It's all about food & shopping

It's my 6th Hong Kong trip~
Oh ya~ after so many times, it's all about food & shopping... no longer sightseeing... as we have almost done it all in previous first few trips...

Me on the plane ~ still quite excited about the shopping spree... 

We chose to stay at Tsim Sha Tsui and a slightly better hotel, after our bad experience in previous trip last year.

Acesite Knutsford Hotel ~ near to Empire Kowloon Hotel but quite far from MTR. The nearest is Tsim Tsa Tsui station. But you have to climb up a slope before reaching the hotel, which is a rather tiring task after all the walkings.

Quite satisfied with the room space, cleanliness and the bathroom. Enjoyed the strong shower.

Met this HK star at The One shopping mall, Tsim Sha Tsui. Didn't know her name until someone told me on FB. Remember her name in a TVB drama instead (上官婉儿).

Harbour city ~ a must-go place if you go for luxury brand... haha~

After a long walk, got to rest our legs at Agnes b. Cafe L.P.G. at Harbour City. Tried their coffee (very "gau" but who knows it's illy coffee).

Also tried their "cheesy" dessert. It was named Florence. Yummy but costly.

雪山榴莲＠满记甜品, Langham Place, Kowloon.

Coffee from Pacific Coffee Company. If not mistaken it's a franchise business from Hong Kong and now they have 3 outlets in Malaysia. I haven't tried the one here but in HK. Was told by colleague that it was nicer than Starbucks but I still prefer the hot latte from the later. The cold one I prefer it from Pacific though.

A cosy place but still can't compare to Starbucks.

We went to many places to eat but not all I took pictures. This was taken at a restaurant nearby the hotel we stayed.

This is fried carrot cake with XO sauce, spicy & yummy. The one on the right corner is chicken rice.

Goose wanton mee

Element, Kowloon. A rather big shopping mall attached to the Kowloon station. There are many luxury brands too. We went to the H&M outlet and left.

Many restaurants in HK are small in space but the taste is mostly superb. So I reckon if it is big, it must be famous and the business must be good.

One of them is Tsui Wah restaurant (翠华) in Central (中环).
We tried the fish balls & fish cake noodle in fish soup for HKD 29. Tasted good but the soup is a bit too fishy.

Also a must-try in Tsui Wah ~ Crispy bun with sweet condensed milk, selling at HKD 9 each. Sweet & yummy!

We went to this Tai Ping Koon restaurant (太平馆) at Tsim Sha Tsui. The queue was long on Sunday night. So we went the next day for lunch instead.

This was the only one we went which did not require you to settle the bill at the counter. So they serve expensive food and expect you to pay tips.

We ordered Set B which came with a seafood soup, a pork rice and 4 pieces of Swiss chicken wings, all for one person.

This is the Swiss chicken wings. Not suprisingly tasty, probably because the skin was a bit too fat and it wasn't hot enough. But the sauce is a good one ~ sweet, and that's how the name of this dish is derived from. Hongkee misheard "sweet" as "swiss".

K11, a new artistic shopping mall but nothing much inside. Their main attractiveness is the tokidoki cartoon characters, which are cute!

The assistant inside the Food Art Festival display helped took a picture of us. 

The biggest difference I observed was that Hongkees nowadays, from young to old, especially those in the service line could speak Mandarin very well. This is because they have too many chinese customers from China. I can easily bump into few while walking on the street. The locals there might even think that I was one of the China Chinese.

This time we succumbed to tiredness and decided to give Macau a miss. Should have gone for it the 2nd day we were there. Nevertheless, I've heard from several people that there is nothing much to see in Macau. Might pay Macau a visit in near future though.
